The project was launched by the Yard Company, a city planning firm, with the active involvement of the revitalization committee, and was funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Housing and Community Development to revitalize the city's downtown district. Founded in 2009, One South Euclid represents a diverse group of residents, business owners and community leaders committed to making Southuclid a vibrant community. Since its inception, One South Euclid has been formed to address issues arising from the 2008 national housing crisis.

The Committee has strengthened community participation by creating and supporting neighborhood groups, strengthening brand efforts, building a strong online presence, and organizing a volunteer corps to support its activities. The committee improves marketing tactics, ensures that One South Euclid is involved in all events and organises events in partnership with local businesses, community organisations and other organisations.
